  1. Open the Mail app, search for the email/sender you want to block
  2. Tap the sender’s name (in the From field).
  3. Select Block this Contact.
  4. Confirm the block.

At this point, you’ll not receive any notification for emails coming from that sender, to automatically move the blocked emails to trash, you need to change the Blocked Sender Options.

Here’s how:

  1. Open the iPhone Settings app
  2. Search for Mail.
  3. Select Block Sender Options.
  4. Choose Move to Bin.

Here are a few steps to block emails on Gmail app:

  1. Go to the Gmail app on your iPhone
  2. Search for an email from the sender you want to block
  3. Tap on More (vertical dots on the right)
  4. Choose Block *sender’s name* and done

Another way to block an email address on Gmail on iPhone (and the easiest) is marking the message as spam. Once you’re on the Gmail app, follow these steps:

  1. Tap on the profile image (there should be one next to the email you want to mark as spam)
  2. Select More
  3. Choose Report Spam.

After sending the spam report, the message you chose will be sent to Google for an analysis and review.
