SUMMARY:Strategic Communication Management in Times of Automation and Artificial Intelligence (AI) - BI Norwegian Business School
DESCRIPTION:In this session we discuss the implications of AI for professional roles and responsibilities in strategic communication. We explore AI and related phenomena and showcase examples of how AI is currently being used in the field. \nFurther we discuss what current trends in AI mean for the structure of the profession\, including how the role of the communication function and professional will be re-shaped as many of the operational tasks in communication are automated and ‘infused’ with AI. \nFinally\, we delve into the active ethical guardian role that communicators need to take at an organizational level\, serving as the conscience of the wider organization in an age of AI.

SUMMARY:Demand and supply of LTC services : new perspectives from economics\, sociology and political sciences - HEC Montreal
DESCRIPTION:The population of industrialized countries is aging\, leading to a prioritization of economic\, sociological\, and political issues related to support and long-term care programs for seniors. Quebec and Canada are not excluded from this demographic trend and several public reports demonstrate the need to examine the coverage\, generosity\, and costs of these programs to better plan for the years to come. \nThis event is organized by Marie-Louise Leroux (UQAM\, CIRANO) and Patrik Marier (Concordia University)\, in collaboration with CREEI\, CREGÉS\, FRQSC\, the RSI\, ESG UQAM\, Concordia University and CIRANO. \nIt will bring together numerous world-renowned researchers in political science\, economics\, and sociology\, aiming to take stock of the major questions linked to the issues around loss of autonomy\, stimulate discussion on these societal issues\, and provide possible answers. \nSome of the questions that will be addressed are: \n\nWhat solutions should public authorities put in place to provide adequate support and care for seniors and their caregivers?\nWill seniors have the financial resources to meet increased needs\, such as adapting their housing\, using nursing services and help with daily living tasks?\nWhat are the preferences of seniors regarding the mode of care in the event of loss of autonomy; do they prefer to stay at home or go to a residential and long-term care centre (chslds)? What are the issues linked to different modes of care?\nWhat are the financial and psychological consequences for the relatives (caregivers) of seniors losing their autonomy?
